I came to regular meditation through the work of John Kabat Zann, who pioneered the development of meditation programmes to treat stress and depression, and it has changed everything for me. For 30 years I have been looking for a way to relieve my depression and anxiety and this has actually worked. I’m glad you are finding it equally helpful. I was thinnking as I meditated this morning that I was hungry for further guidance and got a clear sense that the right teacher would come along when I needed it. In that spirit, I took up the 10% signup challenge. I’ll let you know how it goes. New Year blessings, Ruth

This is beautiful - I love the image of "like a baby discovering her toes" so accurately describes the fascination and naturalness I feel when I meditate. Thank you for the reminder to keep deepening my practice

I am an occasional meditator. I have a brain that wants always to think. I struggle to empty that bubbling pot. You've inspired me to try again, not to strive to improve, but to just...sit. Thank you x

This is wonderful on mediation, and articulated so well on what it is for you. I've bumbled along trying various apps and methods over the last few years. I finally realised (with the help of an Andrew Huberman podcast) to listen to what my body/mind wants. Sometimes it is to sit quietly with a mantra and other times it is a guided mediation. Sometimes to look outwards and sometimes to really inward focus. It changes and I now feel comfortable to respond to this.

You describe with such grace the place we go to when meditating - that mysterious space between being and nothingness.

Thankyou for this bimblings. I love the community you have created, it's a real source of joy for me. This one gave me a real shift in my own meditation practice this morning, I felt more expansive and accepting. I had fallen into a place of trying to clear all thoughts and also being frustrated by the loudness of my own judgemental voice (which seems to have got louder the more I meditate 😂). This morning I felt like I had a new perspective, that it was easier to simply sit and welcome what arose and watch with curiosity and kindness. I enjoyed it and felt at ease. Thankyou for helping with that 🤗

I've had some wonderful as well as challenging experiences with meditation over the years but the awareness it brought has always lingered. I have lost sight of my practise since having my daughter 19months ago but your article has brought back a longing to reconnect to it (however imperfect that might look right now) thank you 🙏🏼

Only today I was chatting on Whatsapp with a very close friend about our meditation experiences and discovered we both come from a different place yet end up having similar felt sense experiences. That's so heartwarming and wonderful. Then we both read your blog and loved the synchronicity of what your write about this time. I am also curious about the D&D podcast you mentioned. I would be interested in any particular recommendation? Anything that may help me to laugh would be great!! Thank you

Thank you - a lovely, challenging, honest, gentle sharing (what else would I expect from you?!) for the start of the calendar year.
